Brand Creation & Rebranding for Boutique Hotels
Brand Creation & Rebranding for Boutique Hotels
Your hotel is more than a place to stay. Your brand should make that clear.
We create and reposition boutique hotel brands around what makes the property genuinely distinctive — from positioning and brand strategy to identity, communication and the guest-facing experience.
A beautiful hotel can still have a weak brand
A boutique hotel can have a great location, beautiful rooms, thoughtful details and a story worth telling, yet still struggle to communicate why someone should choose it over another property.
This is often where the problem begins. The hotel knows what makes it special, but the market does not necessarily see the same thing.
A strong boutique hotel brand creates a clear connection between the property itself, the experience it promises and the way that promise is communicated across every relevant touchpoint.
That does not necessarily mean changing the logo. Sometimes the identity needs to evolve. Sometimes the positioning is the real problem. And sometimes the hotel has grown or changed while the brand has remained stuck in the past.
We look at the whole picture before deciding what needs to change.
Not a logo project. A brand diagnosis.
Branding is often reduced to visual identity: a logo, colours, typography, photography and perhaps a new website.
Those elements matter, but they are the visible expression of a much larger system.
Before designing or redesigning anything, we examine what the hotel stands for, who it is trying to attract, what makes it different, how that difference is currently communicated and whether the experience actually supports the promise.
The objective is to build a brand that is distinctive and useful — one that helps the right guests understand the property, remember it and choose it.
What we investigate
How Brand Creation & Rebranding Works
01. Strategic Discovery
We start by understanding the property, its history, its ambitions, its guests and the market in which it operates.
This is where we separate what the hotel believes about itself from what is actually distinctive and commercially relevant.
02. Positioning & Brand Strategy
We define the strategic territory the brand should occupy and the reasons guests should choose it.
This becomes the foundation for everything that follows — from messaging and identity to photography, website content and communication.
03. Identity Creation or Evolution
If the existing identity is fundamentally wrong for the positioning, we build a new one.
If the foundations are strong but the expression has become dated, inconsistent or disconnected from the property, we evolve what already exists.
Rebranding does not automatically mean starting from zero.
04. Brand Application
A brand becomes meaningful when it works in the real world.
We translate the strategy and identity into the relevant communication and guest-facing touchpoints, creating the framework needed for consistent implementation.
What you receive
Brand Strategy
A clear strategic foundation defining your hotel’s positioning, proposition, audience, differentiation and brand direction.
Brand Identity System
A coherent visual identity designed or refined around the positioning, with the relevant visual and verbal elements needed to express the brand consistently.
Brand Guidelines
A practical framework explaining how the brand should be used across the touchpoints that matter to your property.
Brand Application Roadmap
A prioritised plan showing where the new or revised brand should be implemented first and what needs to change across your existing ecosystem.
What you should expect
You should expect a brand that makes your hotel’s difference easier to understand.
You should expect greater consistency between what the property actually offers and what potential guests see before they book.
And you should expect decisions based on strategy rather than trends.
For some hotels, that means creating a completely new brand. For others, it means removing years of accumulated inconsistency and bringing an existing identity back into alignment with the property.
The final result should feel natural because it is rooted in the hotel itself.
Who Is For?
Brand Creation & Rebranding is designed for independent and boutique hotels, typically between 10 and 30 rooms, that are:
- launching a new property or concept;
- repositioning an existing hotel;
- entering a new market;
- struggling to differentiate from competing properties;
- operating with an outdated or inconsistent identity;
- changing ownership or management;
- expanding beyond their original positioning;
- attracting a different type of guest;
- or simply aware that the quality of the property is no longer reflected by the brand.
Who This Is Not For
This is probably not the right service if you are simply looking for:
- a new logo without strategic work;
- a quick visual refresh;
- a generic hotel template;
- social media graphics;
- a standalone website redesign;
- or a brand identity disconnected from the hotel’s positioning and commercial objectives.
If you already know exactly what your brand should be and only need production, there are usually faster and more specialised ways to get it done.
The investment
Starting from €5.000
A detailed proposal is provided before any work begins.
Every branding and rebranding project is different.
The scope depends on whether we are creating a new brand from scratch, repositioning an existing property or evolving an identity that already has strong foundations. We define the scope after an initial assessment of the hotel, its current brand and what needs to change.
If an on-site engagement is required, the scope and investment are adjusted accordingly.
Why we limit the number of properties we work with
Branding a boutique hotel properly requires more than producing a set of visual assets.
We need to understand the property, the people behind it, the experience it offers and the market in which it competes.
That requires attention and involvement from our side.
We therefore work with a limited number of hotel projects at any given time, allowing us to remain directly involved in the strategic decisions rather than turning the project into a production pipeline.
Your hotel already has a brand. The question is whether it is working for you
Every hotel communicates something.
The question is whether that message is intentional, distinctive and consistent with the experience you actually deliver.
If your property has evolved but your brand has not, or if the hotel has never had a clear strategic foundation, it may be time to look at the brand as a whole.
Is your brand still right for your hotel?
